Activities

Introduction

Various activities will be organised during the year with regards to the British social calendar. Mandatory activities in Tanzania will coincide with the following British events:

  • Ascot;
  • Cheltenham Festival;
  • Chelsea Flower Show;
  • The Rugby World Cup;
  • Guy Fawkes;
  • Henley Royal Regatta; and,
  • Wimbledon

 

Once a year the group will host a charity ball and a garden party to raise funds for a charity selected by the Committee for that specific year. Once the Group’s own charitable initiative is launched, the main bulk of funds will go to it. The group will support one charity a year. The recipient charities must be registered with BRELA.

The Committee will, in addition to the abovementioned events, also organise the following events annually to showcase, where possible, British brands. The following themes can be utilised for mandatory events listed above where deemed appropriate.   

  • A wine & cheese evening;
  • A Ciderfest;
  • Ladies high tea and men’s port evening; and,
  • Pimm’s evening.

Events

Membership is open to all individuals aged 16 and above who have attended or are attending a British public school. Individuals under 16 years of age attending British public schools may join the Children’s’ Chapter with their parent’s consent.
